Challenges Faced by T&C Logistics in Upgrading Services
According to forecasts, in 2023, the e-commerce sector will continue to grow, opening up numerous opportunities for warehouse and goods storage. Warehousing, with a specialized management system, plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods in e-commerce. Therefore, upgrading the warehouse management system is a top priority for T&C Logistics in 2022.
However, T&C Logistics' current warehouse management system is built and stored on-premises. The system uses outdated hardware, resulting in long data access times. With a sudden spike in website traffic, especially during peak shopping seasons, the system may become unresponsive and report errors.
AWS Migration as the Solution
Smooth and Fast Infrastructure Migration
Facing the need for a rapid transformation to keep up with the company's development speed, T&C Logistics decided to choose CMC Telecom as a partner in the process of migrating to the cloud.
The solution architects and experts from AWS and CMC Telecom closely collaborated with T&C Logistics' technical team to plan and migrate the warehouse management system to AWS within less than a month, following the project timeline precisely.
Continuous Optimization of Information Infrastructure
T&C Logistics' warehouse management system has transitioned to using Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) in place of traditional physical servers.
Trong quá trình chuyển dịch, CMC Telecom sử dụng Amazon Elastic Kubernetes để tự động hóa việc điều phối và cung cấp cơ sở hạ tầng thông tin. Dịch vụ này hỗ trợ quản lý và chạy các Kubernetes trên AWS, đồng thời phát hiện và thay thế các worker node bị lỗi, tăng tính khả dụng của hệ thống. Ngoài ra, dịch vụ Application Load Balancer hỗ trợ điều phối lưu lượng truy cập đến các cụm EKS Container, giúp cân bằng tải cho hệ thống.
During the migration process, CMC Telecom employed Amazon Elastic Kubernetes to automate the coordination and provision of information infrastructure. This service supports the management and execution of Kubernetes on AWS, detecting and replacing faulty worker nodes to enhance system availability. Additionally, the Application Load Balancer service aids in traffic distribution to EKS Container clusters, ensuring system load balancing.
Addressing the challenge of reducing latency in information access, the ElastiCache service was employed, featuring data caching capabilities to enhance system performance. Amazon RDS for SQL Server was used to synchronize information from T&C's servers to customer applications, facilitating data access.
Multi-AZ Highly Available Architecture Prevents Service Disruptions
To enhance the availability of T&C Logistics' management system, the system architecture was deployed in AWS Multi-Availability Zone (Multi-AZ) with the primary AWS Cloud region located in Singapore.
This deployment created an architecture with high operational continuity. If one AZ experiences a failure, other standby AZs keep the system operational.
Implementing the Multi-AZ architecture significantly improves the system's readiness to over 99%, ensuring optimal availability during T&C's business scale expansion.
